Welcome! Thanks for visiting! Please take the next few minutes to read about our family, our journey, and how we can help you family live a better, happier, and healthier life.
6 years ago I was diagnosed with a very rare colon condition. After countless Las Vegas doctors, serious infections, and terrible pain, my mom called Mayo Clinic, desperate to get me some help. My condition was so severe, I was sped through the application process and admitted to Mayo Clinic in Phoenix with one of the best colorectal doctors in the world. 1.5 years in the care of Mayo Clinic and 3 surgeries later, I realized I needed to get control over my health. Gut health.
Several years ago, most of my friends or family had never heard of gut health. With minimal support from Mayo Clinic after care, I knew I needed to take this into my own hands and research as much as possible. This is when I started taking probiotics. With the help of probiotics, I have not had any further issues with my colon, despite my diagnosis being that my condition has a 50% chance of returning in under 10 years. Fingers crossed!
Along with probiotics, I also brew my own kombucha, ferment anything I can, drink kerfir, and I subject my family to all of this as well! We also take a lot of supplements to support our bodies.
So, a few months ago my friend called me and asked me if I had heard of Plexus. I had heard the word, but had no idea what it actually was. She went on to explain probiotic this and that and I straight told her, you are pretty much talking to the probiotic queen. Why would I switch when I am already doing all of these things? Let’s just say, we tabled the idea for a while.
Fast forward a few months. My daughter, Marley, is 3.5 years old. She has been potty trained for almost a year and a half, but was still pooping in her underwear. I TRIED EVERYTHING. Treats, toys, iPads, books on the potty, special underwear, funny dances…nothing worked. One day we were playing in the living room and she “tooted” and she backed up into the corner and said, “You can just play by yourself now.” What that really means is, “I’m backing into the corner because it’s 4:30 and I’ve held my poo all day so I’m just gonna take a poop right here.” NO! So I grabbed her and ran her to the bathroom and I sat there hugging her while she shook in pain, tears in here eyes, because her bowel movement was rock solid and HUGE! But, she did it! And she got a new Barbie!
But let’s face it, she doesn’t need a new Barbie every time she poo’s on the potty. Because toys are not the problem. Her body is the problem. She needed a probiotic because that’s the safest and most effective way to cure the issue. Kids can’t drink kombucha because of trace amounts of alcohol, so I went right out and bought a probiotic for kids. She won’t drink it. She says, “My special butt juice does not taste good.” Ok then. We tried prunes. She says, “Why are you trying to feed me poop?” What gives?! And then I remembered my friend and her probiotic speech, and I remembered that she said it was ok for kids, too.
Enter, Plexus. I woke up one morning and told my husband I was going to call my friend for probiotics for Marley. He reluctantly said, “ok…but you’re not joining it, right?” NO! I’m just getting help for our kid. And then 2 hours later I joined. Because I want it, too! And I want to share it with my friends and family. I want to share what I believe has helped me maintain a healthy life after a tragic diagnosis. I want my family and friends to feel the effects of better sleep, better clarity, better skin, less bloat, less depression, and all of the other things that probiotics can do for you! Don’t get me wrong, I will still drink all the kombucha and ferment all the things, but now I can reduce my supplements from around 20 per day to just a few!
P.S. I know this About Me is a lot about probiotics, but that’s not all that Plexus offers. That just happens to be the “About Me” part that encouraged me to go on this Plexus journey. Follow along with me and find out how Plexus can help you, too!
